LABOR AND MANAGEMENT COOPERATION

A good day's work for a Roofer or Waterproofer means being part of a team. You work with your crew members to complete the job you're on -- but you’re also working in partnership with your union and your employer.

Unions and contractors work together to create good jobs and good working conditions, in a balance of power that benefits everyone. Unions provide highly skilled workers who abide by negotiated rules, and allow contractors to compete fairly with other union contractors. Management provides a reliable source of employment, a fair wage, good working conditions and such benefits as health insurance and retirement.

It’s a partnership that helps keep the roofing industry strong and healthy. Workers and management together promote job safety and apprenticeship programs and the use of union labor. Together, labor and management work to settle grievances, address production problems and forge cooperative relationships on such issues as vacation plans, local union retirement plans and credit unions.
